One of the things I hate most in Internet Marketing is to log in into all these social bookmarking sites and to copy link after link, description after description and tag after tag. Sure, there are some tools like Roboform, that might help completing this job. And although I know that it helps my sites a lot, I still feel that it is a boring task every time I do it.

But recently I came across a social bookmarking service that works in a totally revolutionary way and that has hundreds of users just waiting for my pages to bookmark them to their own social bookmarking accounts. The only thing I have to do is to put my pages into the system and I am done. The rest works automatically, without the need to wait for the work to complete. I can grab a cup of coffee instead and continue with stuff I like to do.

And the best of all, I don’t just get the bookmarks on my own accounts but from hundreds of different users on each of the social bookmarking sites.

You really have to check out SocialAdr right now and you will be glad you did it.

I received some messages from guys asking me why I would recommend using a free domain and a free hosting rather than one of the free blogger platforms like blogger.com or wordpress.com etc.

As for me, there are various reasons that speak for not using any of these free blogging platforms and as it is difficult to decide which one is the more important one, my reasons are the following without any specific order:

  • Installation of Software
  • Subdirectories or Subdomains
  • Advertisement

For certain tasks it might be necessary to use additional software or to install a particular script, not to speak about the use of a database. Free blogging platforms don’t offer these features, which makes them useless for anything apart of content publishing.

The same is to to be said for the use of subdirectories and subdomains, which are sometimes useful to have for some particular tasks or also just for organizational purposes. As there is no hosting account going along with a free blogging platform, there is also no room for creating subdirectories or subdomains.

Not all free blogging platforms allow publishing of advertisements or forbid a variety of ad providers in their TOS. If monetization through ad placement is part of the business strategy, choosing these particular blogging platforms is rather useless.

Considering the above mentioned reasons, using a free domain and a free hosting is a good combination to begin with, as they provide the necessary features that are needed for a proper start.

Nevertheless, it is necessary to mention at this point that such a solution has disadvantages as well. Studying the TOS of these services you can find a statement like

“Company may, in its sole discretion, at any time and for any reason, terminate the Service, terminate this Agreement, or suspend or terminate your account.”

Usually a termnation won’t happen often, as long as you are acting within the TOS of the service and most of all keep the content clean and spam free. But to stay on the safe side, it is a good idea to use the first money earned for the purchase of a CNO domain name and a shared webhosting account.

But Google doesn’t love co.cc domains that much

This is something what I heard of before already, but I found this not to be true. For the advertisement of a certain product I tried the co.cc domains. The domain is currently ranked #3 in Google for its targeted keyword and bringing in steady sales every month since about half a year. With an average sale of $68 and a commission of 12% not that bad for a few hours of work.

So, just go ahead and start with a free domain and a free hosting, earn some money and invest in a CNO domain and a hosting account afterwards.

If you are like me, you will find that making some money in the internet is a great way to combine your hobby with the need of adding some extra income. And who doesn’t need some additional money, you don’t even need to be a broke student for that.

When looking around and going through all the money making opportunities, you will find that there is a huge variety of possibilities for you to earn money with. To keep it simple for the beginning, you may let us just look at it this way; either you sell your own product or you sell a product of someone else and receive a commission for this.

For whatever way you decide, there are at least two prerequisites you need to have in order to get started. You will need a domain as well as a hosting account.

I am sure you know what a domain name is and you also heard about hosting already, but just in case you, let me explain you in a few words.

A domain is the address that translates to the physical location of your files in the internet. It can be almost any name you choose, the shorter the better, as it makes the name more recognizable.

The hosting account is the place where your files are stored physically in the internet. This can be either a rented server or some storage on a shared environment.

I am sure, you think now that there are some expenses involved and that you will need to put money on the table before you even start earning a single cent.

And it is true, usually a domain will cost you about $10 per year and a hosting account will add another $5 to $10 per month. Not that much, but probably too much for a broke student who doesn’t even know if it ever will pay back.

Good news are, you can start with getting both for free without worrying about any initial costs. Just go ahead right now, register your free domain as well as your free hosting and learn your first lesson in internet marketing for broke students: Stop dreaming and don’t talk about it, just do it!

Finally I started my own blog, although I don’t know if there is someone out there who might be interested in what I am going to write about. But is there any other chance to figure it out? So I will give it a try and we will see the results.

Some of you might know me already from facebook, twitter or youtube, some others might not know me by now. Both of you I want to invite to read something more about me and to come back regulary.

So, please be nice to me, leave me your comments and keep in touch. I would love to hear from you.
